Text Not Appearing After Recording
Last updated: March 29, 2026
Problem
You start a recording, speak, and stop - but no text appears in your application.
Common Causes
1. Accessibility Permission Not Granted
Airgap Voice needs macOS Accessibility permission to type text at your cursor.
Fix:
- Open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility
- Find Airgap Voice in the list
- Toggle it on
- Restart Airgap Voice
2. Application Not Focused
The text is injected into whichever application is currently focused. If you switched apps after starting the recording, the text may have gone to the wrong window.
Fix: Make sure your target application is focused and your cursor is placed before starting the recording.
3. Protected Text Fields
Some applications use custom text fields that don’t accept accessibility-based text input (e.g., some terminal emulators in certain modes, or certain web-based editors).
Fix: Try pasting into a standard text field first to confirm Airgap Voice is working, then check if the target app supports accessibility input.
